Programmes
Royal Guitars, guitarists Torsten Ratzkowski and Jan Thomsen, are
extremely active as composers. Continuing what Mozart did in his time
and The Rolling Stones still do in theirs: Playing their own music!
They have been prize winners in prestigious music competitions of
music composing. In addition, they have created music for the concert
hall and radio/ television productions.
Joining the Royal Guitars in concert is foremost in experiencing the
exuberant musical universe of the duo.
- Beautiful, deep, romantic compositions in "Candlelight Style" change
with swinging ragtime, as written for members of the Royal Danish
Family.
- The chaotic rush-hour in New York is described with provocative and
strange sounds played with rhythmical power and drive that add
surprising effects!
- Stimulating tangos, Latin inspired music, or perhaps a Prelude and
Fugue in J.S. Bach style, are all examples of ingredients in a concert
event with the Royal Guitars.
- The diversity of their compositions is overwhelming and under constant
development...
When requested,
Royal Guitars gladly play several different programs;
including music made by important composers like Mozart, Beethoven,
Wagner, Dowland, Buxtehude, Sor, etc.
The programs are always put together in an entertaining way and are
presented with interesting, humorous anecdotes.
